Biography

The Davidson Brothers, Hamish and Lachlan Davidson, are an Australian bluegrass duo from Yinnar, Victoria. They released their debut album Blue Spruce in 1999, which was recorded in 1998 at the Davidson family home and featured only one vocal track, "Lonesome Road Blues," with contributions from their younger sister Ailsa. The brothers are multi-instrumentalists, playing banjo, fiddle, and mandolin. Their second album, Stay All Night, was released in October 2003. In April 2006, they gained significant attention with the release of Raised on the Road, produced by Mark Thornton and featuring guest musicians such as Bryan Sutton, Randy Kohrs, Dennis Crouch, and a guest vocal by Travis List. They have collaborated with notable Australian artists including Andrew Farriss, Lee Kernaghan, and Troy Cassar-Daley. The brothers established the Australian Youth Bluegrass Scholarship in 2011 to support young talent in bluegrass music.
