In 2015, David Thibault reached the final of the TV talent show The Voice alongside future winners Lilian Renaud, Anne Sila and Côme, and stood out in particular for his Elvis Presley-like vocal timbre, whose repertoire the Canadian had already explored across the Atlantic. After signing a contract with Universal in France, the young singer from Saint-Raymond-de-Portneuf, born on May 21, 1997, set about preparing his first album. Released in 2016, it features mostly covers of standards by the greatest American crooners. It was preceded by a first single, an electro-tinged reworking of Chris Isaak's famous "Blue Hotel ". David Thibault's album of the same name, which also includes four compositions, quickly topped the Canadian charts, before enjoying great success in France, where it also entered the best-seller charts.
