Biography

Daniel Litovsky, known professionally as Dani Litani, born June 30, 1943, in Haifa, is an Israeli musician and actor. He began playing the piano at age six and later learned accordion and guitar while living in the kibbutzim En haSchofet and Scha'ar HaAmakim. In his youth, he listened to blues and soul music and formed the band ha-Krischim, later founding ha-Rawakim. His breakthrough came with his role in the musical איש חסיד היה (Er war ein Chassid) in 1968. Litani's solo career began in 1970 with his first recording, the song "שלושה מתוך שלושה מיליונים" ("Drei innerhalb von drei Millionen"). Throughout the 1970s, he released several notable albums, including זה הכול בינתיים (Säh ha-Kol bajintaim, 1974), מכתבים למערכת (Michtawim l'ma'arechet, 1976), and יחס חם (Jachas cham, 1978). He also collaborated with artists like Sandra Johnson Bendor on a series of duets in 1974. Other notable albums include שמיים (Schamajim, 1980) and תקופת החיץ (T'kufat ha-Chaitz, 1992).
