Biography
Daniel Facérias was born on October 20, 1951, in the Pyrenees, France, and is a French singer-songwriter and playwright known for his music and theatrical works centered on Christian themes. He studied musicology and medieval literature, earning a doctorate on 12th-century troubadours while developing his career in rock music. In 1979, he signed with CBS Records, releasing his self-titled debut album in 1988. After releasing albums like Jungles (1983) and Thérèse (1986), he performed at the Olympia in Paris in 1988. After reconnecting with his Christian faith, he created theatrical productions about major Catholic figures, beginning with Bernard of Clairvaux in 1990. He later developed shows on figures including Thérèse of Lisieux, Francis and Clare of Assisi, and Pier Giorgio Frassati. In 2011, he and his wife Anne founded the Diaconie de la beauté, an organization linking artists and the Catholic Church.
