Biography

Corinna May, born Corinna Meyer on October 6, 1970 in Bremen, is a blind German singer who became famous for her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 with the song "I Can't Live Without Music". She developed an interest in music at an early age through her father's passion for jazz and sang in school and gospel choirs. in 1997, she produced her first album, a jazz album on her own. The album Wie ein Stern followed two years later. in 1999, she took part in the German preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Hör den Kindern einfach zu" and won, but the song was disqualified because it had already been released by another artist. In 2000, she tried again with "I Believe in God" and achieved second place. in 2002, she finally won the preliminary round with "I Can't Live Without Music", representing Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest and coming 21st. Her best-known albums include Wie ein Stern (1999), Hör den Kindern einfach zu (2001), I Can't Live Without Music (2002) and Jetzt wie noch nie (2006).
