Biography

Claude Lemesle's songs earned him the compliments of Georges Brassens. They are so well-crafted, we can only rejoice at their success. Like Pierre Delanoë, his range of performers is vast and eclectic. A former khâgne student, he passed through Mireille's Petit Conservatoire, then met Joe Dassin. It was the start of a fruitful collaboration, which would enable the learned man to write a number of hits: "L'été indien", "Et si tu n'existais pas". In addition to a modest career as a performer, Lemesle went on to write for a host of other artists: Michel Sardou, Serge Reggiani, Julio Iglesias. In all, almost 1,000 songs.
