Biography
Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, an American zydeco band from Louisiana, was founded by Chubby Carrier in 1989. Their debut album Go Zydeco Go (1989) marked the beginning of their musical journey. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, they released several albums including Boogie Woogie Zydeco (1991), Who Stole the Hot Sauce? (1996), and It's Party Time (1999). In 2005, they released Ain't No Party Like a Chubby Party, followed by Bayou Road in 2006. The band gained significant recognition with their album Zydeco Junkie (2010), which won them a Grammy Award for Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album and the Best Zydeco Album Award from Offbeat magazine. They continued to release albums such as Rockin With Roy (2012) and Blackpot (2018). In 2016, Chubby Carrier & the Bayou Swamp Band performed in Jambalaya, the Musical, a stage production celebrating Louisiana culture and music.
