Biography
Composer and musician Christopher Lennertz â born January 2, 1972, in Methuen, Massachusetts â is best known for his work in the film, television, and video game fields. Moving to Easton, Pennsylvania when he was 9, he began studying guitar and trumpet while attending high school. He then attended the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, where he studied under composers such as Michael Kamen, Basil Poledouris, and Elmer Bernstein. A versatile and prolific composer, he began composing music for a variety of straight-to-video releases (2000âs Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins) and film and animated productions including Saint Sinner (2002), Soul Plane (2004), Three Wise Guys (2005), Dr. Dolittle 3 (2006), Alvin and the Chipmunks (2007), Disaster Movie (2008), The Open Road (2009), Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010), Hop (2011), Horrible Bosses (2011), The Smurfs: The Legend of Smurfy Hollow (2013), My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 (2016), Sausage Party (2016), Baywatch (2017), and many others. Christopher Lennertz also composed music for television series including Supernatural (2005-2020), Agent Carter (2015-2016), Lost in Space (2018-2021), and the critically acclaimed Amazon Prime series The Boys, which debuted in 2019. A very busy musician, he also composed music for video games including several titles from the Medal of Honor series, The Simpsons Game, From Russia with Love, Quantum of Solace, Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3, and more. Throughout his career, he won several awards including a BMI Film, TV & Visual Media Award in 2025 for his work on The Boys. He was also nominated for an Emmy Award in 2006 for his score for the pilot of popular TV series Supernatural. Outside of his film, television, and video game work, he earned a Grammy Award for collaborating with alternative band Ozomatli on their 2004 album Street Signs.
