Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo is a Dutch DJ and producer duo that formed in The Hague in the early 1990s. The two members are Ramon Roelofs (born September 25, 1967 in The Hague) and Theo Nabuurs (born January 28, 1970 in 's-Hertogenbosch). They are representatives of the early happy hardcore and gabber scene and shaped the European dance sound in the early 1990s. In 1991, they achieved high chart positions in several countries, including Germany and the Netherlands, with the single "Wonderful Days" (1991); the track is considered a milestone of the genre. This was followed in 1993 by "Stars" (1993), which also achieved significant chart success. Further releases such as "I Wanna Be a Hippy" (1995), a collaboration with Technohead, increased their visibility in the gabber and rave-oriented environment. Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo release several compilations and remixes documenting their activities in clubs and at dance events, including Happy Hardcore Hits (1995) and Hardhouse Euphoria (1996). On July 15, 2022, the two DJs' joint music project comes to an end. The song "The Last Goodbye" is released as the last single.
