Biography

Akira Eguchi (江口 玲) is a Japanese pianist. He initially studied composition at Tokyo University of the Arts, graduating in 1986, before earning a master’s degree in piano from the Juilliard School in 1990. He received an honorable mention at the Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition. His career includes collaborations with notable musicians such as Gil Shaham, Ann Akiko Meyers, Katerina Manukian, Chi Yun, and Kyoko Takezawa. He has recorded for labels such as Deutsche Grammophon, Philips, RCA Records, and BMG, and is also active as an arranger and composer. He later became a lecturer at Brooklyn College in 1999, was appointed visiting professor at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music in 2006, and became an associate professor at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2011.
