Capella Sollertia is a historically informed Baroque ensemble founded by German conductor, organist and harpsichordist Johanna Soller (b. Burghausen, Bavaria, 1989). Formed in Munich in 2019, the group focuses on Baroque sacred music from central Germany, with a particular emphasis on the early 18th-century cantata tradition in Leipzig and the surrounding courts. Brought together for the performance of J. S. Bach's St. Matthew Passion, the group has continued through a series of Cantate um 1715 concerts, mixing works by Bach and his contemporaries. The 2026 Ricercar release of The Leipzig Cantatas highlights the complete cantatas by Johann Ludwig Bach (1677-1731), J. S. Bach's cousin. Performed in Leipzig in 1726, these cantatas were preserved thanks to copies made by his cousin, Johann Sebastian Bach himself.
