Buddy Miles Express was an American blues rock group formed in 1968, fronted by drummer and vocalist Buddy Miles. Following the breakup of his previous band, Electric Flag, Miles assembled a new lineup that included several former members of Electric Flag. The group signed with Mercury Records and released their debut album, Expressway to Your Skull, later that year. Their second album, Electric Church, was produced by Jimi Hendrix on one side and Ann Tansey of Mercury Records on the other, and it entered the Billboard Top LPs chart at Number 147 in June 1969. In April 1970, Buddy Miles Express opened for Jimi Hendrix at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Throughout the 1970s, they released several albums, including Booger Bear in 1973, which entered the Billboard Soul LPs chart at Number 56. The group continued to perform and record into the 1980s and 1990s, with their final album, Hell And Back, released in 1994. Buddy Miles died on February 26, 2008, marking the end of an era for the band.
