Bruno Jonas (born December 3, 1952) is a German Kabarett artist, actor, and author from Passau. He debuted in 1972 as a singer and guitarist with the Bavarian City Preachers. In 1975, Jonas co-founded the group Die Verhohnepeopler, performing the piece Himmelskonferenz. He launched his first solo program, Zur Klage der Nation, in 1979 at the Münchner Hinterhoftheater. Jonas was a member of the Münchner Lach- und SchieÃgesellschaft between 1981 and 1984. He performed on the television series Scheibenwischer from 1986 to 2008. His filmography included directing and writing Ein Prachtexemplar (1989) and Wir Enkelkinder (1992). Jonasâs publications featured Hin und zurück (1995) and Bis hierher und weiter (2007). His discography included the CDs Red net (1996) and Ich alter Ego (1998). He portrayed the character Bruder Barnabas at the Nockherberg festival from 2004 to 2007. Jonas also served as a shareholder for the Münchner Lach- und SchieÃgesellschaft.
