Biography

Boyan Vodenicharov, born in 1960, in Bulgaria, is a classical pianist and composer. He won second prize at the Senegallia International Competition before enrolling at the Sofia State Conservatory in 1979. Vodenicharov's early career highlights include third place at the Ferruccio-Busoni International Piano Competition in 1981 and first prize at the Bulgarian Composers' Union in 1982. He studied under Léon Fleischer at the Peabody Conservatory of Baltimore from 1986 to 1987. Vodenicharov's teaching career included roles at the Royal Conservatories of Ghent and Liège, before becoming a professor at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels. His performances have been acclaimed internationally, with appearances at venues such as the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. He has collaborated with numerous orchestras and artists, including the Belgian National Orchestra and Ryo Terakado.
