James "Boo Boo" Davis, born November 4, 1943, in Drew, Mississippi, is an American electric blues musician. Raised in the Mississippi Delta, Davis began playing harmonica and singing at age five. He started his musical career at 18, playing drums for the family band Lard Can Band. Davis moved north in the early 1960s, performing around Illinois before settling in St. Louis. In 1972, he created the Davis Brothers Band, which played regularly at Tabby's Red Room in East St. Louis for 18 years. His solo career began in 1999 with the album East St. Louis, released by Black and Tan Records. Other notable releases include Drew, Mississippi (2006), which ranked in the top 10 blues albums of that year according to Mojo, and the album What Kind of Shit Is This? (2014). In 2023, Davis released Boo Boo Boogaloo.
