Bolschewistische Kurkapelle Schwarz Rot, a musical ensemble from Berlin, Germany, was founded in 1986 as a successor to the Liedtheatergruppe Karls Enkel. The group initially aimed to revive and reinterpret worker's songs, freeing them from the political propaganda of the German Democratic Republic (DDR). Influenced by Erwin Piscator's ideas, Bolschewistische Kurkapelle Schwarz Rot featured a dominant brass section and incorporated satirical elements into their performances. The band released several albums including Kurkonzerte in 2003 and Kämpfe in 2008. Their repertoire included interpretations of workerâs songs by Hanns Eisler and Hermann Scherchen, as well as compositions from Ton Steine Scherben and Rio Reiser. The group also performed a variety of pop music and classical modern pieces. In 2010, the ensemble split into two sections; one continued under the original name while the other formed Sogenannte Anarchistische Musikwirtschaft in 2012.
