Biography

Biting Elbows is a Russian indie rock band formed in 2008 in Moscow by Ilya Naishuller, Ilia Kondratev, Alexei Zamaraev, and Garik Buldenkov. They gained recognition with their debut EP Dope Fiend Massacre released in 2011. Their breakthrough came with the viral music videos for "The Stampede" and "Bad Motherfucker," directed by frontman Ilya Naishuller. In 2012, Biting Elbows opened for Guns N' Roses and Placebo in Moscow. Their debut album Biting Elbows was released the same year. Naishuller's directorial work extended to the full-length first-person action film Hardcore Henry (2015), for which Biting Elbows contributed songs. Their second album, Shorten the Longing, was released in 2020 and featured three tracks in the Director’s Cut edition of the video game Death Stranding.
