Biography

A Corsican singer with a range of three octaves, Battista Acquaviva (b. 1984) grew up in a musical environment, learning to play the violin before letting her voice blossom. Daughter of musician and musicologist Nando Acquaviva, the mezzo-soprano first came to prominence in traditional music circles with her interpretation of Corsican songs in concert, and on record with the album Canti Corsi (2012). In 2015, her appearance on The Voice, la plus belle voix (The Voice, the most beautiful voice ) aroused public enthusiasm, enabling her to record the album Les Chants de Libertés for the Decca label.
