The German rapper Mehmet Seyitoglu (July 5, 1994), aka Azzi Memo, arrived in Germany as an asylum seeker from Turkey and was brought up by his Kurdish parents in Hanau. After leaving school he became a shop assistant and was encouraged by his family and friends to pursue his musical interests. Azzi Memo began uploading his work to his video-sharing channel and slowly his popularity began to grow until eventually he was signed to the Generation Azzlak rap stable. 2017 was a pivotal year for the young rapper: his debut mixtape Trap 'n' Haus was released in the spring and reached Number 31 in the German charts and later in the year his single âAMG2,â featuring fellow rapper Eno made it into the Top 10. The success of âAMG2â began to establish Azzi Memo's appeal to a wider German audience and his second album Surf 'n' Turf became a Top 20 hit in late 2018. In the subsequent years, Azzi Memo stuck to the single format, dropping the tracks âPatronâ (2019), âBist Du Wach?â (2020), and âHeb Ab 2â (2021), which peaked at Number 45 on the German charts.
