Aldina Maria Miguel Duarte is a Portugese fado singer, lyricist, and researcher. Duarte did not initially pursue fado; she worked in various jobs, including in journalism and radio, and was also involved in theatre-related work and social education programs. She first encountered traditional fado in a transformative way at age 24, when she entered a Lisbon fado house in Bairro Alto while conducting an interview with Beatriz da Conceição for a documentary project. This experience led her to dedicate herself fully to fado, through intensive study of recordings, lyrics, and repertoire, as well as collaboration with established fadistas such as Camané, Joana Amendoeira, António Zambujo, Pedro Moutinho, and Mariza. She also contributed lyrics and repertoire research to other artists and worked on archival and compilation projects for EMI-Valentim de Carvalho. Duarte recorded her debut album Apenas o amor at age 37. Her subsequent albums include Crua (2006), Contos de fados (2011), Romance(s) (2015), and Quando se ama loucamente (2017), among others.
