Avalon Emerson, born on November 10, 1988, in San Francisco, California, is an American electronic music producer and DJ. Growing up in Arizona, she was influenced by synthpop artists like Propaganda and Depeche Mode. At 19, Emerson moved to San Francisco, working as a software developer while exploring dance music. She began DJing and organizing events before relocating to Berlin in 2014.
Emerson's breakthrough came with The Frontier on Whities Records in 2016, which was later included in Resident Advisor's top 10 tracks of the decade. She gained prominence as a resident DJ at Berghain's Panorama Bar and performed at major festivals such as Coachella, Sónar, Primavera Sound, and Pitchfork Music Festival. Her discography includes notable EPs like Let Me Love & Steal (2014), Narcissus in Retrograde (2016), and the mix album DJ-Kicks: Avaln Emerson (2020).
