Artificial Funk was formed in Denmark by Rune Reilly Kölsch and his halfâbrother Johannes Torpe, with Kölsch initially using the alias in the 1990s before the duoâs establishment. The group first gained attention with the single "Together" in 2003, written by Kölsch and Nellie Ettison, which entered the Dutch Singles Chart at number 67 and was nominated for DJ Magâs Top 10 Tracks of the Year. In 2005, they founded ArtiFarti Records, followed by Tattoorec.com in 2006 and Nightology Records in 2008. Under the name Enur, the duo released the hit "Calabria 2007" featuring Natasja Saad, which reached number 9 in France and charted on the Billboard Hot 100, and later issued the album Raggatronic in 2008 featuring artists such as Nicki Minaj and Beenie Man. The group earned five DJ awards and a Danish Grammy, solidifying their presence in the electro pop and reggaeâfusion scenes.
