Biography

A pianist with a unique style blending power with artistry, Andrei Korobeinikov has performed on many of the world's greatest stages. Growing up in the Russian town of Dolgoprudny, he started to play piano at the age of five and gave his first professional recital three years later at the Great Hall of the Baku State Academy of Music in Azerbaijan. Around the same time he followed in the footsteps of his hero Sergei Rachmaninov by winning the Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition for Young Musicians, and by the time he reached the age of 20 he'd won numerous other prizes in different parts of the world. In 2001 he joined Andrei Diev's class at the Moscow Conservatory and graduated with a Best Musician of the Decade special distinction; just a year later he was accepted into the Royal College of Music in London. However, he was so multi-talented in different fields, it was still not clear he was heading for a brilliant career in music. He studied law at Moscow University, published books, composed poetry and music and spoke different languages but, continually in demand for appearances, music won the day. Establishing himself as a solo artist, Korobeinikov has also immersed himself deeply in chamber music and orchestras he's worked with include the London Philharmonic, the NHK Symphony, Orchestre National de France, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic, St Petersburg Philharmonic and Kremerata Baltica, taking in over 40 different countries.
