Amugiri was a Japanese artist and entertainer best known as a member of the five-man YouTuber group Comdot, a collective formed by childhood friends under the slogan âbringing local vibes nationwide.â While Amugiri first gained recognition through online content, music had long been a personal ambition rooted in his early exposure to hip-hop culture. In July 2023, during a Comdot-hosted event held at Tokyo Dome, he publicly declared his desire to release a hip-hop track, citing a long-standing love for the genre. That announcement marked a turning point, setting the stage for his transition from YouTuber to recording artist. Soon after, he made his long-awaited major-label debut under the name AMUGIRI on November 6, 2023, positioning himself as a rapper rather than a crossover novelty.
