Biography

Amén is a Peruvian rock band formed in 1995 in Ventanilla, Callao. The band initially featured Marcello Motta on vocals and guitar, Steve Suárez, and Renán Díaz. Following wins in two significant rock contests, their debut performance at a local festival led to the release of their first album, Libre, in 1997. Henry Ueunten joined on keyboards during the recording of this album. The album included notable tracks such as "Sé Que Tu No Estas Solo" and "Fumar el Amor". In the late 1990s, Amén toured extensively across Peru, including Moquegua, Arequipa, Tacna, Ica, and Ilo, building a strong fanbase. Internal changes in 2000 resulted in a temporary hiatus, but Motta re-formed the band with new members Christian Quesada on bass and Claudio Urrutia on rhythm guitar. Nathan Chara joined on guitar in late 2003. Their second album, Amén, was released in 2004. Subsequent albums included Tiempos de resurrección (2008), Somos la gente (2015), Infectado (2017), and 2020 (2020).
