Biography
Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, producer and bassist Alvin Garrett was born in Birmingham, Alabama and is known for his work behind the scenes as well as his solo output, bringing together soul, gospel and R&B. He began his career in 2012 with debut album Expose Yourself and went on to build a reputation writing for stellar R&B artists such as Joe, Kelly Rowland and on the Dove and Grammy-nominated gospel offerings by Deitrick Haddon and Trin-i-tee 5:7. His solo breakthrough came in 2015 with the song âBy Myself," which featured Ruben Studdard. A string of other singles followed, including 2019's "Ms. Perfection," featuring Zapp, and 2020's "Second Chance" and "My Gift to You." His second full-length The Hill came in 2019, with The Awakening EP following in 2020 and third album The Lightness of Love in 2021. New single "'Til I Get Back to You" came in 2023.
