Aleksandr Malofeyev, born 21 October 2001 in the Russian Federation, is a pianist who began formal study at age five. He won the first prize and gold medal at the 8th International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians in 2014. After graduating from the Gnessin State Musical College and the Moscow Conservatory, he debuted internationally, earning the Grand Prix at the 1st Grand Piano Competition in 2016. In 2026, he released his debut album Forgotten Melodies on Sony Classical, featuring works by Glazunov, Glinka, Rachmaninoff, and Medtner, which received numerous accolades and widespread critical acclaim. His performances with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, and Berlin Philharmonic have been noted for technical precision and expressive depth.
