Akiko Ozawa is a Japanese enka singer born on May 14, 1977. She gained early recognition in 1991 when she won the top prize at the Columbia KayÅkyoku New Singer Audition, selected from over 4,000 contestants. She made her professional debut in April 1993 with the single âKaette Kite yo". To mark her fifth anniversary, she held a recital at the Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall in 1997. In 2001, she became a regular assistant on the Radio Nippon program Sugi Norihiko no Radio Mura, a role she held until the show's conclusion in 2017. Celebrating her 10th anniversary, she performed a special recital at Melpark Tokyo in October 2002. In 2012, she released Akiko Ozawa Best Selection to commemorate her 20th anniversary. In 2015, she changed her stage name to Akiko Ozawa and released her first single under the new name, "Namida no Kagiana", in June. In 2023, she marked 30 years in the music industry with the release of "Kazefurushi". Over the years, she has continued to build her enka career with numerous performances and recordings, including the song "Wakare no Eki"(2013), which further showcased her deep, expressive vocal style.
