Biography

Michael Bublé - born on September 9, 1975 in Burnaby, British Columbia (Canada) - was 16 when he first performed in Canadian nightclubs. His Italian grandfather paid for his singing lessons and negotiated concerts for him. He went on to win the Canadian Youth Talent Search competition, although for several years his unfashionable ballad style was confined to cruise ships, shopping malls and hotel bars. In 1997, he appeared on the Canadian TV show Big Band Boom, and in 2000, two of his own songs - "I've Never Been in Love Before" and "Dumb Ol' Heart " - were featured in the film Here's to Life. Michael Bublé released his first album, Babalu, in 2001 and a second, Dream, a year later. After performing "Mack the Knife" at the wedding of Caroline, daughter of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, he met David Foster, who agreed to produce his self-titled debut album in 2003. Subsequent albums, It's Time (2005) and Call Me Irresponsible (2007), broadened his style and proved that he was much more than a Frank Sinatra imitator. His studio album Crazy Love (2009) was preceded by the single "Haven't Met You Yet", which topped the Canadian charts in Billboard's Canadian Adult Contemporary category. His cover of "Cry Me a River" reached #1 on the Billboard 200, and the album topped the Top Jazz Albums chart. He released a Christmas album in 2011, which topped the UK and US charts, and released the album To Be Loved (2013), which included the #1 single "It's a Beautiful Day". Following the release of the album Nobody but Me in 2016, Michael Bublé took a break to spend time with his family following his son Noah's cancer diagnosis. After receiving the go-ahead from his son's doctors, he entered the studio and recorded his 10th album, Love. After a four-year hiatus, Michael Bublé returned in 2022 with the album Higher, featuring collaborations with Paul McCartney and Willie Nelson. The album topped the charts in the UK and reached the Top 10 in many countries. Since 2024, he has been a coach on the TV show The Voice.
