Negra Li (born Liliane de Carvalho, September 17, 1979, São Paulo) built her profile from the cityâs hip-hop circuit in the late 1990s and early 2000s, first gaining attention through work tied to the group RZO and a run of high-visibility guest appearances. A major early milestone came with âGuerreiro, Guerreiraâ (2004) alongside Helião, a track that helped push her voice into the national rap conversation before she stepped forward as a solo artist with Negra Livre (2006). In parallel, she expanded into acting with the film Antônia (2006) and related projects, keeping music at the center while broadening her public reach. She returned to full-length releases with Tudo de Novo (2012) and the collaborations-focused Duetos (2014), which included the hit âVocê Vai Estar na Minha,â then leaned into Brazilian roots and groove on RaÃzes (2018). After several years without a new studio album, she came back with O Silêncio Que Grita (2025), a politically pointed record featuring guests such as Djonga, Liniker, and Gloria Groove, and the same period also brought renewed mainstream visibility through âClareou,â her high-profile collaboration with Thiaguinho.
