Biography

Abbittibbi, a Canadian musical group from Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, was formed in 1975. The band initially featured Richard Desjardins on vocals and guitar, along with other local musicians. In 1975, the group began performing live, playing covers of popular songs by artists such as The Beatles and Elvis Presley, interspersed with original compositions by Desjardins. Abbittibbi released their debut album, Boomtown Café, in 1981. The band disbanded in 1982 after but reunited in 1994 to release their second studio album, Chaude Était la Nuit (1994). This was followed by a live album, Live, released in 1996. Abbittibbi disbanded permanently in 1997, marking the end of their musical journey. Their debut album was remastered and reissued in 2018.
