Biography
Scrubb is a Thai musical duo composed of Thawatpon Wongboonsiri and Torpong Chantabubpha; the pair met as students at Silpakorn University where they were members of the International Music Group. They gained early attention with SSSSS..!, released in 2003 after signing with Black Sheep Records, and continued with the album Club in 2005 and Kid in 2010, both of which contributed to their growing popularity; songs such as âà¸à¸¸à¸à¸à¸¢à¹à¸²à¸â (Everything), âà¹à¸à¸¥à¹â (Close) and âà¸à¸¹à¹à¸à¸±à¸â (Together) became well-known on the Thai music scene. In 2011 Scrubb signed with BEC-TERO, producing the album Clean in 2013, which featured collaborations such as âà¹à¸à¹à¸²à¹à¸ (Freedom)â with Singto Numchok and âà¹à¸à¹à¸¢à¸´à¸à¹à¸«à¸¡ (Can You Hear)â with Yaak Lab, and the duo continued to release singles such as âลึà¸à¸¥à¸¶à¸ (Deep)â in 2013 and âYouâ in 2020. Their career highlights include a Fat Awards nomination for Best New Artist in 2003 and a Seed Awards win for Duo Artist of the Year in 2008, and the band appeared in the 2020 series 2gether: The Series where they were portrayed as the favourite band of the protagonist. The group remained active under independent status, contributing to Thai pop culture with a steady output of music and live performances.
