Biography

'68 Comeback, an American garage rock band, was formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1992 by Jeffrey Evans. Known as "Monsieur Evans," he served as the band's constant member on vocals, guitar, and blues harp. The initial lineup included Jack Taylor and Darin Lin Wood on guitar, Dan Brown on bass, and Peggy O'Neil on drums. They released several well-received 7" singles before embarking on a rigorous tour schedule. Their debut album, Mr. Downchild, was released in 1994. Subsequent releases include A Bridge Too Fuckin' Far (1998), dedicated to original guitarist Jack Taylor who died of a drug overdose, and Love Always Wins (1999). The band went on hiatus in the 2000s as Evans pursued solo projects.
