Year after year, French history is revisited through musicals. Audiences love these more or less far-fetched reconstructions sung in costume. It has to be said that it's history seen through the prism of love that is sung in these shows. 1789, les Amants de la Bastille recounts the tumultuous passions unleashed by the French Revolution, with Rod Janois as revue leader. The success of "Ãa ira mon amour " in September 2011 made future audiences' mouths water. The pressure continues to mount with the release of the album 1789, les Amants de la Bastille in April 2012, while the show itself kicks off at the Palais des Sports in Paris in October 2012.
